EXHIBIT HIGHLIGHTS

The BMW M3 has consistently set the benchmark for performance and remains one of the most iconic and successful sports cars in automotive history. This exhibit tracks the BMW M3’s evolution, starting as a rare homologation special and evolving through decades of engineering milestones to reach the cutting-edge current models. Featuring 24 rare and historically significant vehicles, the BMW M3: 40 Years of Evolution exhibition offers visitors a front-row seat to the milestones of BMW history. The collection spans street models, unique vehicles, and race versions.

“The E30 M3 set the standard for every M3 that followed, a highly capable machine that was built for the track but destined for the road,” says Bruce Hazard, Trustee & Museum Chair, at The Ultimate Driving Museum. “This exhibit isn’t just for ‘gear heads’—it’s for auto enthusiasts, track enthusiasts, adrenaline junkies, but also for anyone interested in how art and engineering collided to shape the way we live – through our cars.”

• The Origin – E30 (1986-1991)  A purebred racing car built for the road.
• The Refinement – E36 (1992-1999)  Introducing a more refined experience with the smooth, iconic straight-six engine.
• The Sweet Spot – E46 (2000-2006)  A driver-focused icon for the purists featuring the S54 engine, the perfect combination of old-school mechanics and modern performance.
• The Outlier – E9X (2007-2013)  The first and only generation to feature a naturally aspirated V8.
• The Modern Era – F8X & G8X (2014 – Present)  Exploring the split to the M4 coupe/convertibles, the distinctive grill design of the current G8X generation, and the return to a straight-six, but with turbocharging.

The Open House will present the first opportunity to view the BMW M3 exhibition, a presentation of the M3, Food Trucks, Continental Tire giveaway, and more!
