This car was donated to the Museum in 2022. When the i8 was introduced, many BMW dealers were required to purchase one of these fiberglass bodies for display in their showroom until enough of the real cars could be built. This came from Classic BMW in Dallas (now Sewell BMW of Plano). Mike Ura, BMW CCA Foundation Trustee Emeritus, found it on eBay, purchased it, and donated it to The Ultimate Driving Museum.

This car is currently housed at Thunder Bunny Racing in Greenville, South Carolina.
